I started my Veterinary career in Newcastle and Sydney, then journeyed South to Tasmania where I had my own clinic for 5 years.
I re-converted to a “mainlander” in 2018, and took the plunge when Raf and I made a pact to follow our dreams to live big. We moved from Sydney to sunny Gold Coast wanting to create a happy clinic. Somewhere where staff and clients alike can feel heard, seen, and empowered in order to become the best animal welfare advocates they can be.
I understand the power of the animal-human bond, and hope to work with you to achieve best outcomes.
Raf and I co-parents Myrtle the Chocolate Vizsla, and Ella the Eclectus Parrot.
I graduated from The University of Queensland in 2019 and moved to Tasmania to start my veterinary career. After 2 years of continuous winter, I moved back to sunny Queensland to pursue my love of birds and wildlife at a local wildlife hospital. Unfortunately, wild animals cannot be cuddled, therefore I am excited to become a part of the Ashmore City Vet’s team where I look forward to meeting you and supporting your extended fur family!
At home I enjoy spending time with my 14yo Green Cheek Conure - who has given me a lot of experience in dealing with bird behaviour! - and two 8yo cats - who cannot get enough pats!
I understand how important our pets are to each of us and I look forward to using my knowledge and skills to support you and your furred, feathered or scaled friends to live happy, healthy and comfortable lives together.

Veterinarian (BSc DVM)
Originally from California, I moved to Australia in 2017 and earned my veterinary degree from the University of Melbourne. I came to the Gold Coast in 2021, completing an internship at a specialist referral hospital and working in general practice, exotics practice, and community medicine. I also have a bachelor's degree in zoology and a background in doggie daycare!
I love being a vet and have special interests in pathology, emergency medicine, and wildlife & exotics medicine. When I'm not at work, you will usually find me in the water -- swimming, snorkelling or scuba diving -- or relaxing with my partner and our furry, feathered and scaled family.
Practice Mascot (BEng MSB)
I might be very new to the Vet Industry (and so far, loving it) but I have always been very passionate about animal welfare and wellbeing. I grew up in a house full of love and marvelous pets.
For most of my adult life I worked in Education, preparing new generations of leaders. Now, I have decided to use my skills and knowledge to provide ongoing support to my partner Karen. Together we hope to build a happy clinic. A place where we can provide the best possible service and care to all our clients (regardless if they are on two or four legs). A place where staff, clients and pets feel welcome, appreciated and looked after.
Karen and I co-parent Myrtle the Chocolate Vizsla, and Ella the Eclectus Parrot.
I was born and raised in a small country town in NSW, so animals have always been a huge part of my life. I had a cat when I was growing up and have always had dogs. I had 6 dogs at one time and 5 Conures that were heaps of fun.
I have spent time on farms helping with the artificial insemination of cattle and feeding poddies, which I think was the one of the most rewarding things I have done outside of raising my two teenage sons.
I love hiking, connecting to nature, beach walks and I'm an avid yogi. I look forward to meeting you and your family.
I'm originally from Canberra but, after doing a bit of travelling, I moved to Gold Coast for the weather about 5 years ago.
I've had pets here and there as a kid, but really found my passion for animals since fostering with the Animal Welfare League of Queensland. I've fostered over 100 cats and kittens since 2019, specialising in pregnant queens and neonates.
When I'm not at the clinic, I recently completed my Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing studies. I enjoy playing piano or banjo, video games, cooking, or doing musical theatre.
I am a lover of all animals, and care passionately about their health and welfare. I have completed my certificate IV in veterinary nursing.
I had a dream from a young age of caring for animals , so here I am!
I'm excited to be a part of the team at Ashmore city Vets, where I can expand my skills and knowledge while providing your pets with all the love and care as if they were my own.
I am a mum of 2 young, energetic children. On my days off, we enjoy bike riding, camping and going to the beach.
Senior Vet Nurse
I got my first dog at 4 years old, she was my best friend. From the first day I got her I knew I wanted to work caring for animals.
I have now been a vet nurse for 7 years and could not imagine myself doing anything else. With a background in emergency and critical care as well as specialist surgery, I'm now bringing my skills and knowledge to the team at Ashmore City Vets and loving every day.
I personally know how important the bond between pet and owner is. It is therefore my goal to provide gold standard care and get your pet home happy and healthy.
Outside of work I enjoy my creative projects (poetry, drawing and painting) and time out in nature (camping and hiking)
Growing up on a sheep and cattle property I never wanted to be anything but a vet nurse.
I spent most of my vet nursing career in mixed practices in Western NSW.
I also spent some time breeding Labrador Retrievers mainly supplying NSW Guide Dogs and the Police force. I enjoyed showing my Labs and competing in obedience and agility trials.
Due to family commitments my career path changed to management of pet supply stores on the Gold Coast, and now I'm back to my true love of vet nursing
I'm mother to Molly the Labradoodle and Grandmother to Olive the boxer x who lives with me part-time.
I have always had a profound love for animals, they always make me smile and laugh, especially when I need it. In return, I want to be able to help them when they need me.
I have experience working with wildlife for WIRES in NSW, as a volunteer with koalas, I've also volunteered at an animal rescue shelter with neglected dogs and cats.
I am the mother of a female Eclectus parrot named Poppy, who has a sweet and funny little personality.
Hi there, I'm Diane, one of the friendly nurses here at Ashmore City Vets. My animal adventure began in 2017 when I started studying animal care, and it's been a joyful journey ever since. They say if you love what you do, it never feels like work, and I couldn't agree more.
My heart truly belongs to our furry friends. Since I was a little girl, I've been enchanted by animals. I was lucky enough to grow up on a small farm surrounded by horses, cows, pigs, dogs, and chickens. That's where my passion for all creatures, big and small, began to bloom.
What brings me the most happiness is helping our patients be the best and healthiest versions of themselves. I believe in nurturing the special bond between pets and their owners, and it's a privilege to be a part of that journey.
When I'm not at the clinic, you'll find me whipping up delicious meals, taking leisurely walks with my faithful sidekick, Rusty (my shadow and four-legged buddy), enjoying a refreshing dip in the ocean, and spending quality time with friends and my wonderful partner.
I'm excited to meet you and your adorable fur babies. Together, we'll ensure they get the love and care they truly deserve.
Assistant Nurse (Cert Woof Woof)
Hello! My name is Myrtle, other times Myrtle Turtle, sometimes Magic Myrtle. Mum gets lazy and calls me Mert for short. I am told I am one of the best dogs out there, and I believe it.
I am a down to earth girl with normal interests like balls and sticks
I also love lizards - aren't they just fantastic?
I used to love catching flies, but now only if they land on me
I love sniffing around in the forest when we go bushwalking
I also love the river, oh and swimming in general
Did I say I love lizards?
I go to work with mum and dad on a near daily basis, I am a good nurse. I try my best not to eat other animal's food when I'm at work.
Ps. Did you notice I am at the main page photo - and oh boy what a day that was, running on the beach along my boyfriend of the day...
